ORDER OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION (OCIA)
“I came that you might have life” – John 10:10

ABOUT OCIA
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is a welcoming journey of discovery, faith, and transformation designed for adults at every stage of their spiritual life. It is an invitation to encounter the living God and grow within a community of fellow seekers. Whether you have never been baptized, were baptized in another Christian tradition, or are a baptized Catholic who has not yet received Confirmation or First Holy Communion, OCIA offers a path toward full participation in the life of the Church.
Throughout the journey, participants explore Sacred Scripture, Catholic teaching, prayer, the sacraments, and the rich traditions of the Church. Along the way, they are accompanied by clergy, catechists, and sponsors who walk with them in friendship and faith.
If you are searching for meaning, longing for a deeper relationship with God, or simply wondering whether the Catholic Church might be your spiritual home, we invite you to begin the journey. Come and see. God may already be calling you, and we would be honored to walk with you as you discover the beauty, truth, and hope found in the Catholic faith.
How long does it take?
The length of your preparation will depend on your specific situation, such as if you are already baptized or not and how much catechetical formation you have received.
For any unbaptized seeker, a minimum 12-month preparation period is required before receiving all three sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist) at the Easter Vigil.
For any validly baptized person (whether in the Catholic Church or in another Christian denomination), the person’s catechetical formation and needs will be assessed to determine the amount of time for a fruitful preparation for full initiation into the Catholic Church.
When are the sessions?
Every Monday evening from 6:00-7:30pm, except any 5th Monday of the month or during July and August.
