BECOMING CATHOLIC

Order of Christian Initiation (OCIA)

“I came that you might have life” – John 10:10

God created mankind, to seek Him, to know Him, and to love Him in this life and the next. He calls to us, scattered by sin, to draw close to him through His Son, Jesus Christ. In order to accomplish this, Christ established the Church as the instrument through which he would redeem the world and gather all people to Himself so that there would be one flock, one shepherd. Through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA), a person is led through the teachings of the Catholic Church and a process of conversion that culminates in the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
