PARISH MISSION:
HOW TO BE REVIVED BY THE EUCHARIST

We are glad so many of you were able to join us for the Parish Mission this past weekend. We hope that these resources can help us continue to deepen in our prayer and help us to prepare for the Triduum. If you weren’t able to join us, you can listen to the audio recordings below and check out the resources that were shared with those in attendance.

“The Eucharistic Revival: Why and How” with Tim Glemkowski
Where does the Eucharistic Revival come from? Why is it important? What do we hope to see accomplished in the Church? How can it be brought about? Tim Glemkowski, CEO of the National Eucharistic Congress, will lead us as we ask and answer these questions.

“A Mystagogy of the Mass: The Key to Eucharistic Revival” with Dr. Sean Innerst
Our bishops have called the whole US Church to a “National Eucharistic Revival” to build our appetite for our Eucharistic Lord, so that we might be better disposed to receive Him. The ancient form of liturgical catechesis called mystagogy shows us how to do that effectively, to heighten eucharistic faith by moving from mere “facts” to “fascination” in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

Reflection and Discussion

Those in attendance reflected on Luke 24:13-35 and were given the questions below to guide their prayers. You can download the verse and questions as a PDF.

  • In which ways are we foolish and slow of heart to believe?
  • Can you remember some moments when your heart was burning in the Lord’s presence? Bring them back to your memory and treasure them with gratitude.
  • How is the Lord calling me personally to a Eucharistic revival?
  • With your own words, ask the Lord to stay with you and to renew your amazement, gratitude, and love for the great gift of the Eucharist.
  • How can we help others to experience a Eucharistic revival?

Resources for Weekly Adoration
In this year of the Eucharistic Revival, we are encouraging all parishioners to spend an hour each week in Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. Whether at Holy Name or another parish closer to your home, this is your invitation to grow in relationship with Our Lord in the gift of the Eucharist.
